Best Laid Plans
Solo show | Organized by Meimei Yu | Alcove Gallery, Chicago | January–May, 2025

The act of design ordinarily entails meticulous planning, yet the actual process of making often includes countless directions, variations, and decision-making, with each potential direction leading to multiple variations, and each variation leading to ultimate decisions, resulting in modifications made from initial plans. For some, this can be a frustrating experience. However, instead of seeing deviations as imperfections, these unexpected adjustments can be embraced and perceived as a necessary part of the evolution and refinement of ideas. The best laid plans are flexible and account for change.

Four works:
Corruptions, book and installation (left wall)
Corrupted Lake, installation (center wall)
Wrecked Revival, book and installation (right wall)
Revival of Hecate, film title sequence (projection)
